We've put together some general information on neighborhoods in the greater Seattle area, so you can get a feel for each one in addition to seeing their locations.

Capitol Hill

Denny Blaine, Madrona, Leschi, Seward Park

Along the western shores of Lake Washington in Seattle, you'll find parks, trails and the glorious rambling Seward Park. You can tie up at a marina, go for a walk, have lunch or dinner, picnic, bike, jog, explore the neighborhoods, ooh and ahh over the waterfront estates and homes, swim, loaf, read the paper, have a barbeque. Homes and Condominiums of all styles and price ranges. Waterfront homes soaring into the multi-millions.

Downtown/Belltown

Condominiums in all price ranges right up to the millions for luxurious penthouses overlooking the Seattle skyline and the breathtaking beauty of Puget Sound, the rugged Cascades, and the majestic Olympic Mountain range. There is Pike Place Market, wonderful and eclectic restaurants, shops, galleries, museums, the Symphony, The Waterfront, and the hustle bustle that is all part of the lively downtown lifestyle.

First Hill

Sometimes called "Pill Hill" by locals because of all the hospitals. Great condos from the mid-$200,000's to the millions. Walk to downtown, Capitol Hill, dining, shopping, hotels.

Greenlake

Anchored by its namesake lake, Greenlake is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Seattle. It overflows with restaurants and bistros, coffee houses and electricity. Take a walk or a jog around the lake, rent a kayak, canoe, or paddle boat. Skate, bike, picnic, sunbathe, golf, or just relax and watch the people, the ducks, the dogs, the geese. Condos and houses in all styles and price ranges starting around the mid-$200,000's for a condo. For a home with a view, be prepared to start looking in the high $500,000's.

Kirkland

Kirkland, located on the eastside of Lake Washington, has been called the Sausalito of the Northwest. Pull up to one of the marinas in your boat and enjoy gallery hopping, great dining, fun shopping, strolling along the waterfront, picnicking in the park or just hanging out. You'll find chic urban condos, smart townhomes, elegant and even funky waterfront homes. Waterfront prices for studio condos from under $200,000 and homes from the $400,000’s skyrocketing into the multi-millions. Both spiral up into the multi-millions. If you move in and away from the water homes start in the mid-$300,000's.

Madison Park

An urban village set on Lake Washington. From condos and bungalows to stately homes in adjacent Washington Park. All price ranges, zooming right into the multi-millions with some smaller condominiums starting in the mid-$300,000's. Wonderful restaurants, great energy, fun shops.

Magnolia

Located a few minutes northwest of Downtown, Magnolia is one of Seattle's most beautiful neighborhoods. It contains the largest urban park in Seattle (Discovery Park), a quaint village, three major supermarkets, tennis courts, playing fields, restaurants, a marina, extraordinary and sweeping views of the City, Sound, and both mountain ranges. There are a variety of homes and condominiums with wide prices ranges starting in the low $400,000's for condominiums and spiraling upward to the multi-millions for spectacular view homes.

Mercer Island

Located in Lake Washington and connected to Seattle on the west and Bellevue on the east by the floating bridge of I-90. Mercer Island offers a variety of waterfront home styles and prices. From just over $1,000,000 to over $6,000,000. Private docks abound and you'll find swimmers, skiers, power boaters, and sail enthusiasts. Mercer Island has a central village and shopping center and offers easy living in a quiet country like atmosphere just minutes from urban centers. If you get away from the waterfront homes start in the $600,000’s.

Montlake

Many charming bungalows, Tudors, and craftsman style homes nestled between Capital Hill, Lake Washington and across the Montlake Cut from the University of Washington. Homes start in the mid to high $500,000's.

Pioneer Square

Just south of and adjacent to Downtown Seattle. You'll find more condominiums and lofts beginning at around $250,000. This is old Seattle with its charming brick galleries, shops, booksellers, bistros, bars and restaurants featuring jazz nightly. There are the Underground Tour, the Mariners, the Seahawks, FX McRory's Restaurant (hang out for serious sports fans). Art, Music, Food, and History are all part of the Scene.

Portage Bay, Eastlake, Lake Union

Home of the famous houseboat communities. Everything from Funky to Grand, cute to elegant. Prices from from the $500,000’s to the millions. This is a very special lifestyle, and purchasing a houseboat is very different from purchasing any other type of waterfront property. This is laid-back living at its best. Lake Union offers an array of waterfront dining spots from fast food to fine dining, marinas, yacht sales, shops, fitness centers, the Burke Gilman Trail, kayaking, boating fun, seaplane rides.

Puget Sound Water Front Living

West Seattle, Parts of Magnolia, Vashon Island, Bainbridge Island. These communities are either a short drive (for West Seattle) from downtown or accessible by Washington's famous Ferry System. Prices range widely but are appreciating rapidly. The Sound connects to the Lake Washington Ship Canal via the Hiram Chittenden Locks, or the Ballard Locks, as they are better known by locals. From the locks and ship canal, you enter Lake Union. From there you can go through the Montlake Cut into Lake Washington.

Queen Anne

Just minutes north of Downtown is the urban and charming neighborhood of Queen Anne with its eclectic mix of restaurants, shops, homes, and condos. The south slope features some of Seattle's most stately and elegant homes with prize winning views of Seattle and Puget Sound. Here on Queen Anne you will find Key Arena, the Pacific Science Center, the Space Needle, and Seattle Center with theatre, opera, ballet, and special indoor and outdoor events. Restaurants abound and there are shops aplenty. Homes range from the $400,000’s up to several million, and condos start in the mid $200,000's.

Waterfront Living

Seattle is set against a backdrop of two mountain ranges and is surrounded by water. Whether it's Seattle or the cities on the eastside of Lake Washington, wherever you go you will find waterfront recreation waiting for you, from the salt water of Puget Sound to Lake Washington, Lake Union, Lake Sammamish, and all the many lakes and rivers to the east, north and south. There are more boats per capita in the Seattle area than anywhere else in the U.S.
